Our Mission
Conservation, Community, Connecting to nature - saving species together with you
Here at the Curraghs Wildlife Park we connect the community to conservation actions by educating, inspiring and giving opportunities to get involved in conservation.
We provide an environment where all ages and abilities can connect to nature and enjoy the natural environment.
We give opportunities for the community to enjoy recreation time that promotes health and well-being, both physical and mental.
As a member of the British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquaria (BIAZA) and accredited members of The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) our mission is:
- to inspire people to help conserve the natural world
- to participate in effective cooperative conservation programmes
- to deliver the highest quality environmental education, training and research
- to achieve the highest standards of animal care and welfare in zoos, aquariums and in the wild.
Providing funding and manpower to in situ conservation projects aimed at protecting animal populations and their habitats.
Maintaining viable populations of animals in human care to ensure their survival over the long term.
Educating our visitors about animals and their habitats and providing them with the knowledge and opportunities they need to live sustainably as part of nature.
